About this event

Horseshoe Softball Elite Position Development Academy

Overview

The Horseshoe Collective is bringing a position-focused softball camp to Boise, led by Boise State University Softball athletes. Over two afternoons — Saturday instruction day, Sunday showcase day — young players will train at their primary position with Division I instruction: infielders and outfielders working on footwork, reads, and throwing, pitchers on mechanics and pitch development, and catchers on receiving, blocking, and throwing behind the plate. Every station is coached by athletes who compete for the Broncos.

Sessions are split into two age-appropriate groups (Grades 3-5 and Grades 6-8), so every player gets instruction matched to their skill level. The camp is designed to build and develop position-specific fundamentals in a high-energy, encouraging environment. Whether your athlete is new to their position or already competing, they will leave with cleaner mechanics, a stronger arm, and a better understanding of what it takes to play their position at the next level.

Saturday is a full instruction day, with athletes rotating through position-specific stations. Sunday is a showcase day, where athletes put their position skills on display in live game situations with real-time coaching from the Boise State athletes. Camp athletes will walk away with:

• Infield play: footwork, backhands, double-play feeds, and throws across the diamond
• Outfield play: tracking fly balls, efficient routes, and crow-hop throwing mechanics
• Pitching mechanics: grip, arm action, and drive, tailored to each age group
• Pitch development and command: location work and building an effective arsenal
• Catching fundamentals: receiving, framing, blocking, and throwing to bases
• Position-specific drills and reps at your primary position
• Live game situations with Division I coaching
• A Q&A with BSU Softball athletes about college recruiting, training habits, and life as a student-athlete
• Autographs and photos with the team

With two afternoons of instruction and showcase play from Boise State athletes and a low athlete-to-coach ratio, every player gets meaningful reps and focused feedback in every position skill area.
